THE DREAM CATCHER For centuries as legends go, the hooped shaped web talisman has shielded and protected children and adults from bad dreams and thoughts. The shape is a reflection of the sacred hoop, THE GREAT CYCLE OF LIFE of which we are all part. The unbroken strand/sinew of the web is symbolic of eternity, the life cycle that is continuously replenished and never ending. In one of the many legends regarding the origin of the dream catcher, an elder had a vision in which he saw a thin wooden hoop decorated with feathers and beads and what appeared to be a spiders web. The elder shared his vision with the other people who took it to be an omen and set themselves to creating the object seen in the dream.
THE MEDICINE WHEEL Symbol of Balance, Harmony and Brotherhood of Man, it represents the wheel of life, the centre crosses symbolize the four winds, four seasons, four directions of the Earth, and the four colours of man, red, yellow, black and white.
All feathers are collected after the annual moult, from our private collection of non European Owls, Bantams or found walking in Nature.
